WHAT WE DO (3)
04. What we do: Entrepreneurial Skills Training
We
empower young people to succeed in self-employment because we know that the
global market can’t keep pace with the vast number of young people entering
every year. As these entrepreneurs start new businesses, we’ve witnessed their
power to create new jobs and help shape local economies. Our entrepreneurship
initiatives give young men and women the foundational knowledge, training and
resources to start, lead and grow small and micro entreprises.
Education and Employment
We’re
addressing the problem of a global IT
skill gap by preparing young people to succeed in the jobs employers are
seeking to fulfil. As we support young people on the path to employment and
economic independence with ICT based technical/vocational employable skills,
we’re working to ensure that the kind of positive change we’re bringing on
board is sustainable and will bring continuous benefit to the individual. Our focus is on maximizing impact of ICT education
on employment through partnerships and building our corporate and social
partners’ capacity to deliver youth-friendly employability services.
Social Advocacy, Research and
Innovation
We invest in young leaders who are tackling some
of the world’s most pressing issues. In addition to empowering individual young
social innovators through community, webinars and training. SKI Africa advocates to strengthen the
social youth entrepreneurship sector locally. This initiative is fostering
innovation at the high school level.
